As the son of Michael and Isabel Mondavi, Rob Mondavi, Jr.’s passion for wine began more than 30 years ago—while playing among the vines and wine barrels on his parents’ Napa Valley estate, Robert Mondavi Winery.
At the age of 12, he started his first job under Tony Coltrin, Robert Mondavi Winery’s current director of winemaking, immersing himself in the business and absorbing every detail. Rob took every opportunity, including summer breaks from the University of Santa Clara, to work at and learn from the family business.
Mondavi, Jr. established Napa Cigar Company in 1996, after educating himself about international business in Panama, and then joined the Robert Mondavi Corporation in 2000—first as a luxury brand Sales Manager, then as Sales Director for international wine imports, and finally as Director of Marketing for Robert Mondavi Winery.
In 2004, Mondavi, Jr. and his family founded Folio Wine Partners with the vision of producing and importing the most exciting wines from established and emerging wine regions. He currently lives in Napa with his wife and son, focusing his efforts on the winemaking and the vineyards.
